is this too depressing for 8th grade?

do now: why are friends important? what do they provide?

transition: what would happen if we had no friends? what would life be like?

depressing?

I don't think so... I think they're pretty appropriate questions for 13y/o's

I dont think its depressing. But if anything, you can always change it 'How do you feel when you get into a fight with your friends?' something they can relate to their own lives...the feeling of possibly losing a friendship.

im having it relate to crooks, and transition into the idea of loneliness...
