Is this too much $$

I am getting my floors done (stained, sanded, the whole thing). Its 1200 square feet. They quoted me $2400. Does that sound like too much money? My dad thinks so. They are also removing the carpet

I dont remember the exact sq feet but i just got quoted $1800 for 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living room dining room, hall way, entrance way adn stairs. The guy is suppose to start on saturday he has gotten amazing reviews from a few friends.
He should be done by wed (they said 4days) So I can give you a complete review then.

ETA: FH said the sq was like 975-990 somewhere int that area.
And it is three coat one sealer and 2 of whatever the other is in a natual finish.

I just got 5 estimates on my floors. It is about 1000 square feet and this includes my stairs that need alot of work. They are going to sand and finish natural coat. I got estimates between 1700 to 1900.

Alos if you are using stain it is more expensive.

This was SO helpful. I am using stain so it appears that I am in the ballpark. My dad (after telling me his guy could do it cheaper) called me this morning and told me to use the guy that I got. So he is starting tomorrow and will be done in four days. I feel much better about it.
