Is this too much for a florist?

Help me out. Is $4000 to much for8 bridesmaids, 4 groomsman, 1 flowergirl, mothers, grandmothers, 2 arrangements at ceremony and 5 pairs of bridal bows, and 17 high and low centerpieces? I really like this florist but they r defintely more than the other 2 that I have spoken with so far. Let me know!

In terms of comparing florists, one strategy I found useful was to ask exactly how many flowers I would get for the price. For example, one florist I met with quoted me a price of half the other florists, but when I asked how many flowers would be in the centerpieces, I realized that the price difference was because he was offering half the number of flowers! In other words, make sure the comparisons you're making are true ones.

What type of flowers and how many? Could you FM me the florist that gave you this quote?

Flowers are very important to me - my cousin got married a few years ago and paid $5K for flowers - but her flowers were STUNNING!! She had no fillers at all - the bridesmaids bouquets were all roses and orchids (She only had two) - her bouquet were all large white orchids and the centerpieces were a basket made with branches and hydrangeas roses and orchids -

So you must take into consideration the type of flowers -

I know my flowers will be very expensive - at least $4K - my bouquet will be gardenias and white dendrobrium orchids, the girls will have an all rose arrangement and the centerpeices will be all white dendrobrium orchids -

that is definately too expensive. I have 5 BM 1 maid of honor 1 matron of honor 2 best men 5 grooms men 3 flower girls mothers fathers 19 centerpieces 2 church arrangements 3 little boys I am using lavender roses and orchids on everything including the centerpieces and I am only paying 2017 total. Maybe you need to look a different florist.

It's so conditional, but it sounds very high to me. I went to two folorists one was going to charge me for three delivery stops! The second one, I got even more flower arangements, (added church flowers), for less money!

I think that might be too high!!!! but try a few different florist and compare prices-- maybe look through some magazines and bring pictures of what you are looking for with you.

I paid about $2400 for 19 high centerpieces, 2 flower bouquets for the church, 10 pew bows w/ flowers, 12 boutaniers (sp?), my bouquet (mini calla lillies & other flowers), 5 bridesmaid bouquets, 6 corsages and a small bouquet for the ladies room.

Honestly it is hard to say - if you are doing only roses then I would say it is too high. But I am doing all calla lillies and so I am paying much more (around 3500 more if I need more centerpieces) NOW I could have paid half that amount if I went with roses but I wanted a more expensive flower.

The way I found if I was getting an accurate quote or not was to simple go to a number of florists (even ones you might not be interested in) and get full quotes (write down HOW MANY flowers each were giving, what exact flower you are getting in each case etc.) also ask if I need more centerpieces WHAT are you charging per centerpiece that will give you a better idea of what each is charging.

I got about 10 estimates and found the some of the highest quotes were giving me the fewest flowers. Also some florist will charge you more when they hear where you are getting married. This way if you get a lot of quotes you can figure out who is giving you a more fair quote.

BTW I received quotes as low as 2800 (for a popular vendor on here but he wanted to give me 1/3 of the flowers the others were giving me) and 7500 from another vendor - who was just plain CRAZY and he even wanted to give us less flowers than some of the middle range vendors were giving us.
