Is this true?

Is this true?

That if you want to use tiffany blue as a wedding color, you have to get permission from Tiffanys?

The exact shade is copy-righted so its impossible to use the exact shade. i think a celebrity (Toni Braxton maybe?) wanted to use it but couldnt. You're only allowed to do a shade off.

I've seen shades of blue called tiffany blue, don't remember where though.

that's crazy. but i have heard that companies are weird about colors. like no two beer companies can have the exact same color bottle....... (maybe clear is an exception/??)

strange about tiffany's though bc it would have to be EXACT... that's like trump trying to do 'you're fired'...

nuts

Re: Is this true?

A company can not reproduce tiffany blue. Its a patented pantone color. However, a company may use a similar shade. If you notice, you will sometimes see a very slight variation in the color of a dress swatch when you compare it to the box. Its not noticable though unless you know what tiffany blue really looks like...

Its really funny I know but there are a ton of companies that do that... like the Tory Burch orange... thats patented too.

You won't be able to match the exact shade of a Tiffany box, but I've seen a hundred things labeled 'Tiffany blue' and no one ever had to request permission from anyone.
