is it true that your hair starts growing really fast when you are pregnant?

Also, I know you are not supposed to go to the hair salon when pregnant because of the toxic smells and all, but can you use henna at home, with no chemicals...

What did you guys do when you roots started showing, if you get highlights?

I have heard that your hair and nails grow faster with pregnancy. I don't know if its due to the prenatal vitamins. I hope its true because the girl chopped my hair so short last time I went and I had told her to keep the back long.
As far as highlighting or coloring your hair, you need to check with your dr. It seems that drs opinions differ on this one.
My dr told me not to color or highlight at all during the first trimester.

My doctor said I could highlight because the color doesn't touch the scalp. I asked my hairdresser to be extra careful.

my doc said the same thing, you can still get it done. But make sure that the room is ventilated. I am waiting till second trimester anyway
