Is this true? re: tipping vendors

My sil told me you either tip them, or pay for their plate at the wedding (meaning the dj, photographer, and video guy)

you should do both....

however, if you only plan to do one, it should be feed them because its kinda cruel to make people work through dinner hour and watch you eat

I agree- we do not want any vendors passing out.

It never occured to me not to feed them- I did not think that was an option, but my sil said her band told her that was the way to do it- feed them instead of tipping.

I didn't think it sounded right- I was just hoping it was true!
