Someone once told me that it is bad luck for siblings to get married in the same year. Is this true?

I have heard that. My friend is from the Phillipines and her mother almost had heart failure when she and her sister got engaged so close together. She insisted that one be married in January or later to avoid bad luck.
ETA: As for 'is it true'... it is a superstition... and about as 'true' as the idea that having a severed rabbit's foot is good luck...

We got engaged 3 weeks after my FH brother and as much as we would've loved to have it in that same year ...we had to wait until 08 ....Just out of respect to the family since we are having a DW wedding . I think it would be fine if it was in the same year just wait like 4-6 months after or before ...especially if some of the same people are in ur bridal parties

Re: Is this true? WR
that's silly.
my mom and her sister and my grandma and her sister got married in the same years. everyone's still married except my grandparents since they're passed on. they've had long lives together--so no, it's not bad luck

I have never heard that-my brother is getting married on 07/03/07, we are getting married on 10/07/07. I have no worries.

I agree. I think it is just rough on the families.

God, I hope not! Two of my sisters were married this year and my wedding is in 11 days!! That's 3 siblings in one year!!

I never heard that - my aunt and her two sisters were married within like 18 months of each other (the other 2 sisters in the same year) and no bad luck for them!

I googled it and it says it is bad luck because then you 'share the luck' which brings bad luck. i dunno.
