So I have two coworkers that I eat lunch with every single day...have been doing it for three years! One of them I am very friendly with outside the office as well, so inviting her to the wedding was a no brainer. The other one I debated a bit but ultimately decided that spending an hour together every day had to mean something and I felt that it be rude and potentially awkward to invite one lunch buddy and not the other. So I invite the other coworker. Now I know that people in Ohio and Massachusetts received their invites early last week. Yet this person has not said a word to me about receiving it. We have had lunch about 5 times since they all went out....and not a word. Is this her way of saying she doesn't want to come? I feel like an a$$ being like 'Um, did you get my wedding invitation?' She must have gotten it a week ago! So confused? Am I being crazy or is this weird? Anyway now I feel like an a$$ for invting her... sigh.

Well, if she did receive it, yet has not said anything, then, yes, it may be weird. Something that I have learned over the last couple of months is that certain people act so strange when it comes to anything wedding related. Not quite sure why, but sometimes it is shocking!
Having said that, she just might not have gotten it yet!! I konw that twice my friends wedding invite ended up at a neighbors house befire I got it ONE WHOLE month later!! Maybe you could mention it to your other friend you do lunch with?? Maybe she will casually mention it?

Re: Is this weird?
there are three possibilities here:
1) She hasn't gotten the invitation yet 2) She doesn't know if the other lunch buddy is invited and so doesn't want to bring it up to cause tension 3) She is socially awkward and doesn't know what to say

Maybe she's not sure whether you invited any other work people and is afraid of mentioning anything where others might overhear? Also, is she engaged/married? Before I started planning, I'm not sure it would have occurred to me to mention having received an invitation.

why not ask the other friend to bring it up during lunch and see what she says...it IS odd that she didn't say anythiing!!

Re: Is this weird?
Ha, I like number 3! It should be pretty obvious to her that the oher lunchie is invited as she has been saying openly how she can't wait to go! The only thing I can think of is that I have been very mum about the wedding at the office. Mainly because we were having lots of layoffs and quite frankly I did not want to invite ANYONE if I was getting laid off nor did I want to invite anyone who I may never see again if they got laid off. So if anyone brought it up I tried to be demure and succinct when I spoke about it. Fortunately the layoffs have passed and we are all left standing.
Anyway, I think if I was invited to a wedding that I really, really, really did NOT want to go to, I would say, or email, the next day 'Thank you so much for the invitation but unfortunately it's the same day as _____.' Is that so hard? I am still so puzzled.

Don't sweat it. And don;t feel awkward discussing your wedding around her either. Eventually, you will find out whats going on.

honestly, people are so strange when it comes to the invites and rsvps. i have a coworker who has never mentioned it, as well as many friends who haven't said a word and my rsvp date is next monday.

Maybe you can just bring it up in convo and see her reaction? Then, you'll get an idea if she recieved it or not.

Re: Is this weird?
Why don't you just ask your other lunch friend to ask her if she received your invite (while you're not around)? I don't think that's a big deal.

Re: Is this weird?
Find a way to bring it up over lunch.
Maybe say 'My aunt commented about this and that on the invites...what did you think?'
Just a casual way to ask her opinion about it. Then see what she says.
