I've been emailing with a photog and they told me to leave them my number so they could call me tomorrow to set up an appointment. I just emailed my number...and they rang my phone a minute later...it's almost 11:00 at night...am I the only one who finds this weird/annoying/unprofessional?

this is just the beginning. wait til vendors get their hand on your number from other vendors and other places that you've signed up. i've given fake numbers just to avoid the hounding.
it makes no sense that this person wouldn't just email you. just be careful of who you give your number to.

Yeesh! They came highly recommended from this board too. I'm not trying to nitpick...just a bit of a turnoff...I think a good rule of thumb to follow would be that once it's dark outside, business is shut down until tomorrow!!
Yeah it's kind of weird, especially since she told you that she was planning to call tomorrow.

Did it ring like a regular call? I know sometimes inter numbers and call it quick so it's saved in my phone, but yea I totally get you! One vendor emailed a confirmation for an appt yesterday. I wrote back and he responded with 'great! See you tomorrow'. That same vendor called me twice before the appt today to reconfirm! Yea, crossed off my list! One vendor called me at 9:30 pm, which is too late for me!
I was super annoyed though when registered for a bridal site. The profile asked if I want to receive emails from vendors for the services I need. I clicked no. Not even kidding, 10 min later got a phone calle from a photographer that said he got my info from that site!

I'd still rather that than vendors taking 2+ weeks to get back to me....I've been hounding a certain make-up artist for a trial for longer than that. I love her work but am seriously about to give up.

She probably entered it into her phone and dialed by mistake. You can't tell me you haven't done that before. I called FH this morning at 7:15 while I was sleeping because I hit the wrong buttons. It happens. I wouldn't make anything of it. If she called and left a message then maybe but if it rang once, even twice, I wouldn't think anything of it.
ETA: Also, I know a lot of people check email via their phones and if she went to save the number it may have dialed automatically. It happens,

It was a full ring and they left a message... wasnt just storing my number. No biggie...just a lil odd to me.

it is kinda weird when they get so eager but if you like the vendor then i would say just go with it.

I had that happen to me, but didn't really think anything of it. I figured that the vendor knew I was up since I had just sent the email.
I've had vendors take months to respond to inquiries. I'd much rather have someone get back to me within a minute...lol

In defense of the vendor, they are used to late hours due to all the weekend evening work. Most of their networking and sales business during the week is done in the evening. It is not weird to get a call so late at night however I do find it to be rude.

Yeah.. I can understand if you were booked with the vendor and said 'hey.. I don't get home till late..it's okay if you call until 10' but if your trying to win someone over on customer service.. Calling after nine pm is unacceptable.
