FH and I were thinking it might be nice to give a donation for our favor (in addition to something small and take-home for our guests, maybe traditional jordan almonds or a candy bar, this is tbd). I saw a commercial the other day for St. Jude's Children's Hospital and their 'slogan' is 'Give thanks for the healthy kids in your life, and give to those who are not' - and I thought maybe we could print a picture of us with our fgs and rb on the paper that explains the donation favor - the donation would be in their honor. What do you think?

Yeah, I would think that you were donating to St. Jude's because (one of) those kids had cancer. Also, putting someone else's kids' pictures on a favor card could bother the parents, some parents are very protective of stuff like that, not that it would bother me in that position but it could bother them.

I totally thought from reading this that they have needed the services at St. Jude's. I read others' comments and it appears they don't? So I guess I'm not sure why their photos would be there. I like the idea of a personalized message to guests explaining the donation, but maybe could could put a photo of you and your FH with the kids and a sign saying 'TY'?
That is why I was uneasy about it because it could cause confusion. They are FH's nieces and nephews, so I don't think anyone would mind but that was my concern as well.

Yeah ithink it will make people associate your fg and RB with illness. I love the donation idea though

I think it's lovely! FH and I are also doing a donation favor in honor of his mother who passed away from breast cancer.
