Re: Is this wrong?

I don't think they're necessary at all. I think the limo is a nice luxury, but because the ceremony and reception are at the same location, there's no real need, and the RD IS a waste of money to some people. Weddings cost a lot, who wants to spend more than they already can't afford if they don't have to?

I'm not having a traditional RD and I'm not having limos either. I only have a MOH and BM and FG in the wedding party...and we will all get to the hall via cars....since the ceremony is at the hall.

We are having a dinner the night before for the OOT guets...we are taking them to the chinese buffet...if they don't want to come...they are on their own.

I also didn't want to spend money on these things...I put the money towards other things such as photos since my budget wasn't that big to begin with.

I am getting married at the hall and only hiring a limo for 1 1/2hrs tops to get me there. If you look around you can probably get a deal on a limo, I did and I combined it with my limo rides to and from the airport.

I only ended up getting a limo becuase a bunch of BMs started harassing me. I wish I didn't. I really don't think that limos are necessary, especially if the ceremony and reception are being held at the same place.

We aren't having a rehearsal dinner because we are getting married at the hall...no real rehearsal needed.

And since we will be staying at the Inn next door therthe night before, we don't need a limo either.

I think if you get married outside of the reception you should have some sort of RD. It could just be dinner at someone's house or going out to Fridays. JMO

I also think they should have a limo. If it is far like we are doing I would not want them driving. I would want to know that we are all getting to pictures and reception on time and together. JMO

To each her own...Every bride is different. Me, I am having limos because my reception hall is about 40-45 minutes away from the church. And although I am having a small bridal party, I would feel better with a rehearsal.

There are 10 people in the BP and we all live in Nassau. The ceremony/reception is at Flowerfield's in St. James. I think that is preety far for all of us to drive and then are dates will be driving there also later.

Well, just keep this in mind for your wedding then. There's nothing you can do about it. Just remember that karma will come back to bit you in the arse if you make a big deal about it. JMO.

We are getting married in West Hempstead and our reception is Flowerfield. I am not making any of them drive. We even set up shuttles for them to get back to the hotel after the wedding. Everyone is staying over night. I do think it is a little strange. Sorry JMO

Neither is wrong.

I want to have a RD but it's just not going to work out that way because it's at 7:45pm which means we'll get out of there at 9pm or so and then to eat that late...I'll be up all night!!

Besides FH has to drive back up to the Bronx that night, a BM has to drive back into the city...I don't want them driving late.
