Both set of grandparents..and my parents were born in Italy...

I would say my cousins and I were raised more Old Country...(tradition/values)

But yet my parents are very modern when it comes to dressing and the style of my home..

My family is very old country. All the adults, including myself were born in Russia.

My family is not 'old country' .. actually sometimes I feel like I dont know a lot of the Italian traditions because they were lost generation to generation , which makes me kind of sad

My grandparents on my Dad's side were born in Italy, but my maternal grandparents and my parents were all born here

We are traditional Italians in some ways, but overall very Americanized compared to a lot of other girls I grew up with..

My parents were old country. And they raised us to be that way. Though we are also Americanized.
My husband is OLD country!!! He reminds me of my Dad so much with his way of thinking.

My family land I lived with my grandparents. I consider them to be pretty 'old school'. The one thing that wasn't old school about them was that my mom insisted that my siblings and I not speak Tagalog (language of the Philippines). She thought it would keep us from blending in with our peers. I still find that odd, b/c in most other ways, we were raised very old school Filipino.

ETA: Despite their efforts, i am pretty Americanized.

My mom was actually born in Italy and came here when she was a teen - but she swears she doesn't remember Italian any more! (She's 67 now) But as far as Italian customs and ways, other than having a small family, we're pretty traditional.

My father is from South Africa (and went back and lives there again). Other than drinking rooibos tea, there isn't much that we do. He taught me a lot of things in Afrikaans (one of the local languages) but that's about it. He's of Irish descent, so I think he identifies more with that anyway.
