Is your ringbearer...

Is your ringbearer...

going to be carrying the real rings? Or will you use the plastic rings on the pillow? My mom seems to think it won't be a problem if we tie the real ones to the pillow right before he walks down the aisle, but it makes me nervous. What are you guys doing?

Mine carried the real rings at my brothers wedding on the pillow.
At my wedding I made a ring box and he carried them in there.

ETA: He was 5 at my brothers wedding and 6 at mine.

mine are 3 and 4 and definitely won't have the real rings - who wants to untie them from the pillow anyway in the middle of the ceremony? we'll give them fake ones and the real ones to the BM. Thanks for reminding me to buy the fake rings!

I never heard of this. What a great idea! Mine will be 7 by time the wedding comes but he is a TERROR! So he will definately be carrying fake ones.

i dont see why not -- its just about a 50 foot walk ... and they will be tied on - so what could go wrong?

I am not sure yet seeing as how my brother is the Bart Simpson/Dennis the Menace type! I will see as the day gets closer I guess.

I don't have a ring bearer, but when I was 2 1/2 & my brother was 4 1/2 we were in my aunt's wedding & to this day he remebers that he didn't have the real rings & I guess the whole time people were telling him what an important job he had, and then realized they were SEWN to the pillow! I think not beign trusted really damaged him, if he remembers it from when he was 4!.

I think if they are tied on & he is given the pillow right before hand it will be fine, and then have the Best Man untie them.

I am having the plastic rings. My son is 3 1/2 and I know he would do a good job but why have to worry about one more thing? Plus I have heard many horror stories about taking too long to untie the rings off the pillow. I guess you tie them so tight they stay! Nah, I am going to keep it simple!

my ringbearer is carrying aluminum foil rings He is 6 and small but doesn't really understand this at all (he is from Europe and has no idea what a ring bearer is). I guess one of the BM will carry the rings.

My cousin is my RB and he will be 8...I have already put the fear of God in him about losing them and I completely trust him with the rings but I also don't undertand how they would have to be untied at the altar. I am just going to get fake ones for the pillow and let the BM hold the real ones.

I think fake ones . . .

definitely fake ones! we have two ring bearers, only 5 1/2 and 4

They are terrors! LOL! i'm not sure they will even walk down the aisle, let alone carry our real rings safely down to us
