Anyone hear of or know about island hopping for day trips in Hawaii??? FH and I want to stay in Maui and possibly Kauai or Oahu. We're thinking of island hopping to make life easier.
I am trying to figure out if its worth it. You can score flights for $44, so I am considering it... Any help, suggestions or advice is welcome...and much appreciated. Thanks! Christina

Looked into this...but FH wants a big room where we can really chill and relax in with a gorgeous view. Cabins are too small and we cruise every year. We really would like to stay on two islands...Maui one of them... up in the air on the other. I say Kau'i, he wants O'ahu. So we're thinking of picking one and day tripping to a 3rd.

I've never heard of day trips, I guess thats bc there is just so much to do on the islands. However, I know one of them (forget which one) u can take a ferry too and just do a day trip. I know it wasnt maui, kauai or oahu....those three are the most visited.

yea we are debating with this too...i think we are going to do five nights in maui and 4 nights in kauai...i dont think the flight between islands is that $$....we were going to do a third island but me and FH dont want to keep moving around so we figured two islands would be good..and we would take a day trip to honolulu to see pearl harbor. the travel agent said its only like a 30 min flight to honolulu.

If you stay on Maui there are varous islands you can go to. Oahua os a hort flight and I know people go for the day. You could also take a boat trip to Lanai. Trilogy does some great snorkel tours. I highly recommend them. I believe they also do trips to Molokai

Ladies... thank you so much. We're leaning more towardsstaying in Maui and Kauai. We will prob take a flight to the Big Island for volcano national park. And we would love to visit Pearl Harbor and Waikiki beach. I think the day tripping makes sense....
