Had my intro. session at a yoga/tai-chi studio. Their cheapest package is $450 for 3 months. It includes a uniform (karate type) and a book about yoga. And it includes 3 classes a week. Unlimited classes for a year is like $1500.
It seems like a great place, but still. I said I'd think about it.

Re: isn't this a high price for a yoga membership?
I live in Commack. The only ones I have found are karate centers that seem to rent out space to yoga instructors. I was supposed to go to one today to try it but it was a crazy day at work and I never got there.

Is it a beginner yoga class?
I haven't taken yoga in awhile but I love it. I am going to have to check up some karate centers. Thanks!

They all seem to say that they are for all levels. I'm willing to try. The one that seems convenient for me is at Nokado School of Self Defense on Commack.
But will I tone up at all with yoga?

Yoga isn't really a work out that burns fat - it will tone you up a bit and make you flexible, but cardio is the only thing that gets the heart pumping and the calories burning... Yoga is great to do along with other workouts because you can get sore and stiff...

I have heard and seen that you can get toned from Yoga. I just really like the idea of being stretching and trying to relax after a long stressful day.
