Isn't this crazy???

My friend just told me of a wedding him and his FW went to this past weekend at a beautiful place (not mentioning names) that charged the couple $200 per person for a buffet dinner. And the only thing that was at the CH was a platter of 'exotic' fruit.

Can you believe that?! Why would anyone pay that much for a buffet??! I don't care what the place looks like or where it is... that is a RIP OFF!

that is an awful lot of money to spend on a buffet and no big cocktail hour

IMO the two things that make or break a wedding are the food and the music so for me personally i wouldn't go for a beautiful place with bad/nothing special food

i have heard that buffets are more expensive bc they tend to use more food

but normally they have a CH

either they were ripped off

or the couple is lying to make it seem like they spent more than they did

im guessing this was a NY wedding bc you said ur not mentioning names

I recently went to a wedding that was held in a swanky hotel in the icty, and for the CH, waiters walked around with only 3 kinds of tiny itty bitty hors d' oeuvres on platters. The thing is people were so hungry and waiters so scarce, that as soon as the watiers emerged w the platters, people would bombard them so they didnt really have a chance to walk around the room. Those towards the back of the room didnt even get to see the waiters at all.

I was NOT impressed to say the least.
