Issue with Photographer

Hi everyone. I'd like your opinions on something. When I received my proof albums I called and asked if there were more pictures (I was really disappointed in a few pics and wondered if there were others). My photographer told me that there are more pics but they weren't printed because they aren't good pictures-someone may be blinking etc.. so they weren't printed. I asked to have them printed (you never know what you'll see that you may want to keep you know?) and he said that there are so many pictures that it would take too long to go through and determine which had been printed and which weren't. I was told that I can come to the office and review on the computer.

The fact of the matter is that I'm pissed. Nowhere on the contract does it say 'good picture proofs' it says 'all proofs in albums'.

Am I right to be a bit irked about this? God knows who chose the photos for the proofs. how are they to know which pictures I'll like?

Do you think I'm being a pain or do I have a legitimate gripe?

I would be irked as well. If it says 'all proofs' you should get 'all proofs'. My interpretation of my contract is that I will get every picture he takes that day.

when it comes to some wedding stuff I can't figure out if it's just me being cranky or not

I have had the same issue with my photographer - Although we got about 800 proofs from them, i know that we didnt get every picture that was shot that day. I actually think thats fairly common that they 'weed' out the bad shots.
We will however get them on disk at the end of the job and if there are any i like in there, i'm having them printed.

I would be pissed too. Then why don't they provide them on DVD

And if you like a picture with someone blinking can't that be touched up?
