It all came together like magic (long)

My wedding was on August 19th, and besides being the most special day in my life, it was the most fun I have had in my life. All the planning from the past 6 months came together like clockwork. It''s amazing what happens when you get the right people involved with your wedding. I just wanted to express my gratitude and thanks to all the people from the hairdressers to the caterers that helped my wedding be as amazing as it was. It''s just a shame it only lasted one day. Anyway, the make up artist I used for myself, two bridesmaids and my mother was Amanda Lavender. She came on time to my house, 6 AM! and finished on time with amazing results. My girls and I never looked better, and she worked so well with the hairdresser, you''d think they came together. Amanda''s phone number is 631-893-2924. I highly recommend her style, her personality and her prices. At the wedding, people were specifically complimenting the makeup, and my husband even made it a point to talk with amanda and thank her for the wonderful job. I honestly cannot praise amanda''s work enough. The hairdresser I used was amazing too. She was able to put up my short hair and make it look so elegant. She too came to my house at 6 am, no problems and was calm and worked like I said before, very well with amanda to get everyone ready. She really specified each style to the girl. Her name is Donna, 631-680-1123. And her prices are beyond reasonable, for the bride and everyone else. I also used one more woman who did the makeup and hair of one bridesmaid who couldn''t make it to my house. Her name is Lana, and she is the co-owner of Davidoff in Merrick on Merrick Rd. The number there is 5162238580 and in a matter if 1 hour she was able to transform my friend, and this friend has very very very long hair. My friend looked so good and I was so impressed, considering there wasn''t any trial for this girl. In fact, none of my girls had any trials, and their makeup and hair couldn''t have been any more perfect. My wedding was held at the HILTON NYC. If you are looking for something other than the typical LI wedding in a hall, this is the place to do. The people are so professional, all the way to the last detail. I can''t rave enough about the quaility of the service, the food, and the beauty of the halls we were in. The main coordinator was James Johnson, 212-586-7000, and he will accommodate any request you may have. For the limo service we used Fantasy limo, I forgot the phone number but he''s in Bellmore, and ask for Felix. The prices were reasonable and he gave us a BMW limo for 12 for the price of a regular limo for 6! and the driver was great! really, when the photographer came with us in the limo to get pictures done, wherever the photographer said to go he knew where it was, and he would stop whenever the photographer had a idea for a picture, like in the middle of 5th avenue across the street from central park. The photographer is amazing, artistic, and knows his stuff. Call Gary at 917-548-4279. Many of my friends have used him, and I have seen their albums, and they speak for themselves. He is in Staten Island, but so worth the trip and the money. For the videographer we used Lou Ballera, 800-771-3515. He was on time, stayed until the very end, was extremely professional and worked so well with everyone, including the photographer. I haven''t seen the video yet, but I have seen samples, and in all honestly, I have never seen a more professional video. his camera captures the ambiance of the rooms so well, not all cameras and cameramen can do that. I also had a powerpoint presentation during the shmorgesboard, no sound, just pictures of my now husband and myself as we grew up, and I designed it myself. THe people that I used for the screen and to set it up was ADWAR VIDEO, 516-349-1800, ask for sam, the owner. They were professional, affordable, and it looked good, no small screen, the projector was in the back. IT looked good and people were happy to see it. I would write about my musician, who was AMAZING, but he is mostly a russian band. IF you are interested in a russian band, a good russian band, that sings american, jewish songs as well, call David at 201-791-9741. I saw people dancing at my wedding that I have never seen dance before! Talk about a treat! For the cake I used cupcake cafe in Midtown NYC. Firstly, they are beautiful, not expensive, but most of all, MMMMMMMM. People are still calling me up asking me where I got the cake, and if they make anything besides wedding cakes. And they delivered it no problem. If you have never seen nor tried a cupcake cafe cake or cupcake, you are missing out. For my headpiece, and it was a one of a kind, I went to Bridal Styles in Brooklyn. Edward 7183393222. Edward is the owner and he makes all of the headpieces himself. They are a bit pricey, though there are some in every range, but my headpiece was a circle of champagne porclain roses with a single zwarofsky crystal in each rose. I have never seen anything like it in all my life, and neither has anyone else. It''s a shame that it will only get used once, I am currently trying to talk my sister-in-law''s sister to wear it on her wedding, or my best friend. My biggest advice is making sure you are comfortable with your vendors, and enjoy the heck out of your day, because no matter how long your wedding is, and mine was 10 hours!, it goes by so fast, it''s a shame, but it is also the most fun you will ever have in your life.
