It poured this weekend!

This past Saturday my incredible bridal party threw FH and I the most incredible Jack and Jill shower! I had told my mom and my bridesmaids that I wanted the anti-shower, we wanted a BBQ that was relaxed and a party atmosphere and they really made that happen. The shower wasn't a surprise (something else I wanted), so I thought I knew a lot of the details but boy was I surprised when I walked in. My bridesmaids decorated the backyard with what seemed like a million homemade paper fans and lanterns, they put out boxes of trivial pursuit cards (one of our favorite games) with trivia questions about FH and I and members of our bridal party on them, and everyone brought lawn games which were a huge hit (especially with FH, I barely saw him all day because he was the reigning champ of the bean bag toss game)! We had the daiquiris and margaritas flowing and the BBQ food from Famous Dave's was a huge hit! We even got lucky with some music because my parents neighbors were having a 40th birthday party at the same time and they hired a great DJ, so we got to get down to their music too! Everyone was so generous and we got so many wonderful gifts from our family and friends. The bridal party all got together and made us a honeymoon bag with all of the essentials as well as a beach umbrella and beach chairs and the suitcase we registered for.

FH was very hesitant when I told him that I wanted a Jack and Jill shower but when we were on our way home he told me he had a great time! My bridal party really went above and beyond to make the day exactly as I wanted it! The only thing that I wish had gone a little differently was that we were all having such a good time that I forgot to have a picture taken with my parents and one with my bridesmaids! Oh well, there will be plenty of those at the wedding!!!

FH and I couldn't have asked for a better day! I keep thinking back about it and I feel so lucky that we have such wonderful family and friends who support us so much!
