It poured today!!!!! With pics!!!!
After much anticipation, I had my shower at the Three Village Inn today!!!
It was really a lot of fun...of course there were some bumps along the way, but nothing that I was going to let ruin it. The food was delicious and it was very quaint inside. I'm glad that the men were able to eat in the bar and have their own little party outside too. My sister did a fabulous job decorating too, we had a coffee theme because we met at Starbucks, so loose coffee beans on the tables, a giant coffee mug, and then cute candles and sandlewood fan favors using burgundy and ivory.
We received very generous gifts, and the BEST part of the shower, bar none, is when FSIL was assembling the bow hat/bouquet...backstory, I got a little snitty with my older sister and said I didn't want the hat, and to just make a bouquet, months ago. So I'm seeing it done, and I open my last present, and then all my BMs start circling me as I'm sitting in my chair and I'm thinking uhh.....and then my sister says, 'Well, you didn't want a hat, so how about a nice, big, BRA!!!!!' And then all my BMs attack me and tie me to the chair with the bow-bra! I was COMPLETELY taken by surprise, and it was the funniest thing ever. The pics are hilarious!!!!
Most of the pics were taken on FHs camera, so I don't have them yet, but my sister is uploading some of hers now so hopefully I will be able to post shortly. The only bumps in the road is that one of my friends pulled a complete no show and didn't tell anyone, but I wasn't surprised because of precedent. I was also a little peeved because FH's extended family, once again, gave a gift from like 17 people, and then just all up and left at 3.15-ish even though it went till 5. I thought that was a little weird, and then the party kinda died and got really quiet, I felt bad because my friend worked really hard on the games and then no one really participated and we didn't even get to do some.
Also some things are unaccounted for according to the registry, and I'm a little unsure of the etiquette...according to Macy's, which tells you who bought what, we were supposed to get another sheet set and a juicer which we didn't get, and we also didnt get a can opener that was fulfilled from BBB, as well as on a gift receipt from our everyday dishes. I'm not sure if I should, at least on Macys, use the 'report a gift not received' function? I don't want to seem ungrateful at all, but i don't know if maybe they bought themselves the item off the registry?
