IT POURED!!! UPDATED WITH PICS

today was my shower. I was very surprised by where it was, i was so happy bc i wanted something modern and thought about this place bc of their decor but i didnt give suggestions because i stayed out of it, it was at Island in astoria. Everybody did such a great job, for the favors they did this whole gift set with eyeshadows, blush, 2 nail polishes, lipsticks, other make up, tweezers and i forgot what else plus on all the tables there were packets of drink mix that said a perfect blend and also Denises bridal shower with the date, i think they were cosmopolitan drink mix packets. The food was very good, and had a great time but it goes by so fast. Everybody kept coming up to me to say what a great job my moh did and how organized she was lol, all the girls were so great and it was like an assembly line when i opened up gifts, we actually did the gifts pretty quick. Everybody kept asking when i was going to open gifts bc it was going to take a long time but i finished and still had time left and we didnt start right away. Had such an amazing day. Our Fg which is in red in the pics was the cutest thing she kept throwing petals everywhere bc shes been practicing alot at home and wanted to show me, and then she was posing for me for pictures. Also FMIL got us a flat screen tv so that was awesome and so generous. I have to say my mom and MOH did a great job of picking a place, it definitely was the type of place i wanted and its funny bc i had posted on LIW before suggesting this place for a shower and said i would LOVE to have it here and it was too bad i couldnt pick the place

Oooh and the place i guess forgot to write on the cake hahaha but oh well i didnt even care what can you do. The funniest is the pic of me with the knife, my grandmother looks terrified LOL

yeah luckily fh was with his friends who dropped their wives or gf's at the shower so they were great bc they came a little early and started packing all their cars. Half the stuff is at fh's house and then we brought some stuff to my house and tomorrow we'll bring more stuff from fh's house to mine

oh so for you it'll be quick. We will be engaged 22 months by the time of the wedding lol so yeah alot of planning going into this. When we got engaged i didnt even plan or book anything for 4 months, i wanted to just be engaged and enjoy it and then i said i wanted may for the wedding and it was october of 06 so it was 7 months away and i said i need more time so then i said we'll just do may of 08. We were going to do sept of 07 but then i decided to stick with my original idea of may

lol thank you he bought that to match his hat hahaha. Thank you so much, my heels were so high lol and they were new so at first it was hard to walk and fh was flying up those stairs and i was like WAIT i cant walk youre dragging me and thats when i saw everybody

here are the shoes, everyone must've asked me how i was walking in them lol

looks like you had a great time! i love your invites!

i see you got a mini deep fryer. this was FH's favorite of all of our engagement gifts. it really does make great wings, mozz sticks, onion rings, etc. I even made italian rice balls in it

the best part is.. it keeps the portions small!

i cant wait to use it, we'll have to wait a few short months or maybe ill test it out now although i should stay away from fried food before the wedding lol

They don't look too bad. They're stacked at the front, those are usually more comfy...(And by comfy I mean you can manage a few hours of standing before collapsing and begging FH for a foot massage)

yeah i just couldnt fly up the stairs hahaha, and even when we parked he was walking so fast bc he told my moh he'll have me there by 1:15 and it was almost 1:30. As far as walking it wasnt bad, my problem was that aldo's doesnt have half sizes its so weird and they were a bit tight. Luckily im used to torturing myself with high heels so im used to it

I hate Aldo shoes. I feel like they are the biggest waste of money. You pay about 150 for low-quality shoes!! I rather pay that much and buy 3 season old Prada's at century 21! That said, I have several pairs of Aldo shoes b/c they are so hot lookin!!

i know i try to stay away bc most are uncomfortable. I was searching for red shoes the day before the shower so this saturday and they were the only ones who had what i was looking for, i kept saying to myself they'll be uncomfortable but i didnt want to run around like crazy to other locations looking for red shoes. I do have a pair of boots that are comfortable and other than that none of them are lol. My mom always asks 'why did you buy aldo shoes again'

I hear ya... Best advice: Once you find a comfy heel, esp. if its a black stiletto or something--- go buy 6 pairs. I had this one pair of shoes that were so comfy, I have no clue why. I can walk in them (like literally walk half an hour) no problem. Of course when I went back to buy another pair, they were sold out.... boo!
