It seems that Bed rest is working

Last week when I went to the Dr and she put me on bedrest, because I have a short cervix. Normal cervixs (sp?) are aprox 4.5 not sure if its cm or inches, but whatever the case my cervix measure at 1.8 last week. Yesterday I went for a follow up and my cervix was 2.5. I have been taking it very easy espeically not working on feet for 12 hours, however I have been busy in the house, cleaning organizing etc.... So, my DH mentions that to my OB and she flips out, because that is not bedrest. She told us that I cannot do laundry . go shopping , mop , vaccum etc........The reason being because she has seen pts that were at 2.5 and the next day they were at 0 delievering prematurely. Needless to say she scared us. So now my DH has taken over ALL of the household chores. She also told him if I was not compliant with bedrest that he should feel free to call her so she can admit me . So I have the offical slacker,lazy girl pass!!! I'll try not to lose my mind for the next couple of weeks.

You better listen to the doctor, YOU condition is very serious. I was on COMPLETE total bedrest for 5 whole months. I had a cerclage put in and I wasn't even allowed to shower , Okay once a week and it was a 5 minute shower.

I did NOTHING, stay in bed with my butt under pillows. You DON'T want to go into labor early trust me and you don't want them putting the stitch in.

Take it easy girl! Nothing to mess around with. I'm heading in that direction too and it's so hard to think that I won't be able to do anything!

Is the stitch related to previa? That's what they are telling me is going on. I'm so not up on the medical stuff per say, but I can comprehend BED REST, EARLY LABOR, etc. I have a sono on the 25th to see if the baby has moved or not. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Listen it's great that your doctor is being so cautious. I wish mine had been a little more protective of me. I am quite sure if I had gone on bedrest that my complications wouldnt' have gotten so severe.
