It Showered on Sunday!
My mom threw me a bridal shower on Sunday! I wish I had pictures, she used those disposable cameras so I'm waiting for pics to be developed. I'll post some soon (unless I look really dumb in that hat they put on me!).
It was supposed to be a surprise but it's hard to keep a secret from me - my mom slipped here and there about it so I basically was prepared with dress in hand that day.
Since I was anticipating it, I was nervous all last week when I suddenly had an allergic reaction to the allegra I was taking. I was so worried I was going to look all blotchy and swollen for the shower...Luckily I didn't get hives on my face, and the rash on my arms and legs pretty much cleared up by the weekend. Then a few other disasters happened the morning of the shower...one of our toilets backed up and started to flood water into the basement...I remember my mom said some gifts from people who couldn't make it where down there, so I rushed down stairs and rescued them just in time, they were inches away from the water!
Then as I was curling my hair with a curling iron, I bumped it into my neck and made a little burn on myself. I covered it up with makeup so it wouldn't look like I was walking in with a hickey!
When I finally got to the shower, it was perfect. The weather couldn't be more beautiful and it was at Lombardi's on the Sound so the view of the water and the outdoor deck made it so elegant. I had fun, my only dissapointment is that it went by so fast! I didn't even get to see the cake before they cut it because I was so busy working the room or opening gifts.
The food at Lombardi's on the Sound was EXCELLENT, as was the service. It almost felt like a mini wedding, minus the guys of course :)
My mom told me the price was very afforable for a shower so I definitly recommend it to anyone who needs to throw one.
