It showered this weekend in Commack
Figured i'd let everyone know about my shower this weekend.
It was such a rough week with my grandmother's funeral and I was a little worried about how everything would work out but my sister did an AMAZING job pulling it all together. It really brought some joy to our family.
Since the only thing I didn't know was where, FH insisted on blindfolding me. I wasn't thrilled with the idea but did it to make him happy. After a 20 min drive, we arrived at the restaurant. Red Dish Martini Bar and Grille in Commack. They basically closed down the restaurant for us except for the bar area and we had the whole place to ourselves.
When we got there I was a bit overwhelmed by the turnout and flabbergasted by the generosity. I think that almost EVERY item from my registry is gone other than a few odds and ends. It wasn't too large (as I was afraid would be the case since I knew that FMIL invited EVERY woman on the list), just over 30 people, which I think is the perfect size.
The service was absolutely amazing and the food even better. We had spring roll appetizers and some other type that had seafood (which i don't eat). Then they served caeser salad which I didn't really care for since it was a bit 'fishy' for my liking. I had a chicken cutlet dish (don't remember the name offhand) with fresh mozzerla and tomato's. They also had a salmon dish and penne a la vodka type dish. The servings were enormous and a lot of people ended up taking home their food but EVERYONE was happy.
I HIGHLY reccommend this place for a shower or small Rehearsal dinner. I had only been here once with my parents and really enjoyed it. I had always looked forward to going again. Certainly didn't expect it to be for my shower![]()
My only annoyance for the evening was that at the end I found out that two of my BM's did NOT help pay for it. My sister had decided to split the cost in 3 as my one BM is out of state was not able to attend because of recently giving birth to twins. I'm still not sure if she is going to make it to the wedding at this point They felt guilty asking her for money which is completely understandable and that doesn't upset me. The problem was that the third BM walked in and claimed that she didn't have the cash or a check on her so FSIL generously paid her portion and told my sister that she would take care of it. Who walks in w/out anything when you KNOW that you owe money and are expected to help out. I really hope that she gets the money since it's kinda like a slap in the face to me.

Pix are in my album but just wanted to share the BEST gift of all. It was a card given to me by my sister. She 'helped' my 2 year old nephew sign his name on the card. I cried when I saw it. It just meant soooooo much to me
