my fi and I are Italian. His mom came to the US when she was 38. He cannot think of ANY Italian mother-son songs. He says the reason is that American music is what most Italians usually listen to.

Best of luck!

How about De Voilio Vene (not sure about spelling).

There's the old time traditional song 'Mama' by Connie Francis - it's a real tear jerker though.

Do you mean 'Ti Voglio Bene'? I don't know who sings it but it means 'I Love You'

Re: Italian Girls

acually what are all the italian girls dancing with their fathers? a song in english or italian? For me and my dad probably italian.

Re: Italian Girls

I'll probably dance in Italian - my dad won't really understand or appreciate an english song. The only one I have so far is 'piccolo fiore' but my sis danced to it and I wanted something different. Otherwise its a really nice song

Re: Italian Girls

but i thought mama was about her mama dying ?

When the evening shadows fall
and the lovely day is through,
Then with longing I recall
the years I spent with you.

Mama, I miss the days
when you were near to guide me,
Mama, those happy days
when you were here beside me.

Safe in the glow of your love,
Sent from the heavens above,
Nothing can ever replace
The warmth of your tender embrace.

Oh, Mama, until the day
that we're together once more,
I'll live in these memories
Until the day that we're together once more.
