Anyone planning thier honeymoon or been there? My husbands family is from Croatia which is very close to Italy and are planning a trip this summer.
I would have rather waited till we recouped some cash from the wedding and new house but we want to got when everone else is and I figure since I have always wanted to see Italy anyway I would make a big trip out of it.
Anyone know what the costs would be where to stay and do, advice please, this is gonna be a tough swing financially but I think we have no choice and I am sure I will love it.
Thanks in advance

Re: Italy?
DH and I got married in Tuscany (Fiesole)....and go just about every year to visit his family....
What did you want to know?
We also honeymooned there in the Lake Como region, Tuscany and Switzerland.
Italy remains my favorite country, by far, of any other that I have ever visited!

Re: Italy?
Also - I thought I would mention that as far as budget is concerned....Italy is one of those countries where you can go as cheap or as lavish as you can imagine.... You just have to realize what you are getting for your money. It also strongly depends on the time of year you plan on going....what month is it? June - Sept. is VERY expensive.
One more thing (as I go on and on and on....lol) The US Dollar SuCkS over there right now....so add at least 20-25 cents to every dollar or 20-25$ to every hundred dollars when you are figuring things out.
Let me know if you have any specific questions!

Re: Italy?
We went to Italy for our HM but we took a canned tour b/c I didnt want to have to plan it all out (all planned out from the wedding stuff). We had an amazing time.
Our favorite cities were Venice and Assissi.

Re: Italy?
We are taking a Meditteranean cruise. We are happy we found the cruise becaue we would not have to worry about finding a hotel room every night and it would be easier to see. We will stop in Croatia France, Greece, Italy. My inlaws have been and they say Venice is the best.

Re: Italy?
We booked a shore excursion for every place the ship docked. That's how it will be easier to see.
