Italy Honeymoon

Sorry for all of the honeymoon postings. I am just trying to weigh my options here I am so confused!

Is anyone going to Italy. If so where are you staying/how long.

Also, what is the average price of a honeymoon in Italy?

I am going for two weeks and going to Rome, Florence and Venice and the price a little less than 7K

Our travel agent picked the hotels..

We figure you only get one honeymoon!!

We're going to Italy but haven't booked yet either.

June is peak travel time so it depends on how long you're going for and the types of hotels you want to stay in and if you include breakfast and dinner.

Re: Italy Honeymoon

I've been to Italy before... to be honest Travel Tom talked us out of it and I still kinda go back and forth..neither of us have been to Hawaii so thats where we are going..

in my experience..and I have traveled A LOT..Italy was the most romantic!!!

DEFINITELY STAY AT/IN..,

1) Sorrento...do this last it is the best, most relaxing and scenic and fun...take a day to drive to Pompeii....a day to hit the blue lagrado...a day to hit almalfi.

2) This is more expensive, if you can afford it definitey stay at Lake Como...most ROMANTIC, quiet..but scenic, this is up north near the Swiss alpines...take a day trip to Milan...OR if you dont want to do Lake como, then go to Venice...I personally thought Venice was very commercialized . I was not impressed. However it is fascinating to see how it was built and who knows it may be for you..

3) Must see Rome!!!!!!! Vatican, Coliseum, etc..all the history and architecture, amazing!

If you do a tour, do an independant one...Most in Italy, take you from city to city on a bus..you are on a coach bus...ALL DAY with so many people!!! It gets a bit annoying, you are with them for DINNER, In the HOTEL, I dont htink id want that for my honeymoon.

4) Florence...David, gorgeous city on beautiful landscape

I would spend 3/4 days at each place, take the eurostar from each...city!!!

It looks like there a a bunch of us 5-17 girls going to Italy.

We are going also for 12 days stopping in about 10 places. Traveling from Rome up to Milan. We are going on a tour so that we can get the best bang for our $$$. We like to sightsee and we've had good experiences before Ohh and breakfast and dinner are included

Definitely research the tours.. I would do an independant one for my HM...

Most are with a bunch of people and you are on a coach bus for 6-9 hours A DAY!!! (on days traveling) and then you are with all these people for dinner, at the hotel, You feel bad trying to stray from the group but,..YOU ARE ON YOUR HM!!!! so just research them...

I agree there are many different tours that you can go on. Reasearch is key. We did a leisure one last time where we picked whether or not we would do a group thing or alone. That was GLobus tours and I would highly recommend.
