We haven't done any overseas travel and are looking at both Italy and Greece. Sadly I do not think we have enough time to do both or we soo would. Any suggestions from those who have been to either? Which cities/islands do you think are best? Thanks Ladies

Re: Italy or Greece
Italy is beautiful! I was all over Northern Italy last June. I would recommend Florence and Lake Garda or Como.

I haven't been to either country but would you consider a cruise? I had been looking into that area for our HM and there are many lines that have a focus on both countries. If you wanna check some out, look into Costa Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Princess. They'll range from one week to two and offer plenty of excursions in order to really see their stops. Good luck with your research!

Re: Italy or Greece
We're doing Greece for 4 days and Italy for 7..
Not booked yet but I hear that Positano in Italy is very romantic. And of course Capri and the Amalfi Coast...
If you can swing two weeks off it is definitely possible to do both.

I agree with Jackie.. That is what we are doing..Italy.
Capri, Lake Como, Almalfi Coast..I was there 10 years ago after H.S. and remember thinking..
This is the most romantic place in the world! I need to come back here one day with my boyfriend/husband.

Re: Italy or Greece
Ive been to both places. Where in Italy are you looking and where in Greece? Greece you could have more of a relaxing HM if you choose an island. Italy you will want to do more site seeing and traveling. It really depends on what you want to do

Re: Italy or Greece
Thanks girls. We are really trying to figure out a way to do both. While we are not against touring we don not want to spend the entire trip doing so. Everyone says that Italy is beautiful and romantic but not very relaxing b/c you're constantly seeing things. People have told us if we want someplace more relaxing to do the Greek Islands. Much like many of your posts!!! Thanks Again

Re: Italy or Greece
I have been to both. Growing up I went to Italy several times with my family. And about 3 years ago I went with my DH.
We went to Greece this summer on our honeymoon and it was unbelievable.
Capri and the amalfia cost in Italy are beautiful but there is nothing more romantic then the Greek islands.
We went for 14 days. 2 days in Athens (plenty of time) 4 days in Santonrini( we stayed just outside fira) 4 days in Crete 4 days in Rhodes.
There is nothing like santonrini but I have to say Rhodes was our favorite island.
All the hotels were more then we ever expected.
FM me if you want our hotel info our travel agent info.
If you can afford first class this is a time you want to pay for it. Our plane ride was horrible. It was pretty tight we flew Olympic.

Re: Italy or Greece
Hi,
We actually decided since we wanted to go to Greece then we should go to a true Greek travel agent, so we went to crown peters in Astoria queens.

I did a great Italy tour with Trafalgar tour company. They have a special group for young people age 21-38. There was a great mix of singles and honeymooners on the trip. Went in 2006 to Europe for a month and this was part of that trip... all before i met my honey!
Their special tour was Viva Italia Breakaway. It was 12 days.
I highly recommend it. Wish we could do it for our honeymoon.
