anyone ever done a tour of italy or planning on doing a tour? reviews/recommendations would be greatly appreciated
Also, if you didn't go with a tour, did you plan everything out on your own and would you recommend doing it that way?

FH and I were thinking of going to Italy for our honeymoon, but then chose to do Hawaii and Cali instead. But Italy is the next place on our list! We will be doing a Perillo tour when we do :) I heard alot of great things about Perillo.

I spent three weeks in Italy a few years ago. Taormina (Sicily) was AMAZING and had a secluded and exclusive feel to it. I went from Sicily north through Naples, Rome, Florence and Venice- Italy is awesome! FH and I are thinking about going to Rome on our HM...FM me is you want info

We did a tour as part of our HM in Italy. The company we used was Girosole (http://www.girosole.com/). It was a private tours so it was just DH and I. The tour was awesome! I have the info of the tour guide we had if you are interested in booking directly with him Michelangelo Marsili (www.marsilitrek.it). I highly recommend Michelangelo he will customize the tour based on what you want to do/see. When we were on the tour we stayed at this amazing villa just outside of Florence in Sesto: http://www.villailparadisino.it/eng/index_eng.php
Costanza the woman who runs the villa il paradisino is so sweet...her family own the place and they really make you feel at home.
We booked our entire trip ourselves. The tour was 5 of our 16 day honeymoon. We were able to find much better prices online then the travel agent quoted us. We used booking.com for most of our hotels and trip advisor for hotel reviews. It took a bit of research but it was well worth it in the end.

My friend went to Italy for his HM. He and his wife plabbed everything by themselves. They visited 4 major cities (I think he said Venece, Naples, Rome, and Tuscany, they stayed in small hotels and rented a car to move from city to city (he said this renting a car thing is very easy as long as u have ur GPS with u and download the europe map), and they went to a Andrea Bocelli concert (it was in an open venue). 3 weeeks for 5 to 6K. Can u believe it! I soooo wanna go!!
