Iterfaith brides please HELP!

I have been planing my wedding for over a year and this is the first major issue that I am stressing over.
After searching for several weeks I finally found a rabbi to co-officiate at the wedding. We scheduled our first meeting for the 12th of this month. After mentioning the rabbis name I found out some cncerning news about his reputation. Being the type to always give the benfit of the doubt I figured I would meet with him and decide for myself. THe second red flag was when he called me on Saturday as if I just called him leaving the message. He totally had no recollection who I was nor that I already had an appointment to meet with him. If that wasn't enough, After speaking with my boss, it turns out that my boss lives in the same developmet as the rabbi. I asked him what he was like and he informed me that he has some sort of progressive illness - perhaps alzheimers (not sure of the spelling).

Here is my problem - I live in the city and have no knowledge of any rabbis or cantors on Long Island.
If anyone knows of a cantor or rabbi that would be able to work an interfaith wedding I would appreciate the info. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!

We are having an Interfaith ceremony too. We are meeting with a rabbi in Long Beach tomorrow night. I can post whatever 'vibes' we get from him, or I can forum you. Apparently he the most 'open' one we could find, basically he asked my FH - are you Jewish ? OK I'll marry you.

I need a priest, who will be equally opn. Are you using a priest?

edited to say - this rabbi lives a 2 minute walk from teh LIRR station - just in case you have to come out

Also, my FMIL found him - she did tons of research for us on this

Thank for the response I am not sure how the forum mail works, but I would love to know how it goes. We are using a priest and rabbi. The priest we are using is a friend of my FH - they actualy work together. We were going to use the rabbi from his job also, figuring that it would be nice to have a priest and rabbi that know each other. However when FH approached the rabbi he got a 20 minute lecture asking how you mix the two cultures its like oil and water. I felt really bad for him he did not deserve a lecture a simple no would have been fine.

Forum mail is LIW email. At the bottom of this message are a few green boxes. One says forum mail. If you click on that you will be able to send a message directly to the person who wrote the message, and they will get a pop up box telling them they have a message.

To read the msg, on the top of your screen should be more green boxes. One says mailbox

Try to forum me, and I will respond. Could you forum me the details of the conversations you have had with the priest? Our problem is that I don't tink I will be able to get dispensation, because we are going to raise the children Jewish

I met the Rabbi and he's nice
I have his number if you want to call hime

he is going to a wedding in NJ this weekend, so he'd probably go to the city
