Do people think I put those little ALREADY STAMPED rsvps cards in the invitations for decoration?
WHY do people, especially those who have been married before, think it is ok to just RSVP orally?
Is it that hard to drop the little envelope in the mailbox?
I know my wedding is not your top priority but these people have had over 6 weeks to decide and mail it back!
My RSVP date is tomorrow and I am still missing cards, which I know is not ucommon but COME ON PEOPLE! I need to do my seating chart, know how many favors, and do my place cards.
Ok Vent Over and thanks for listening!!!!!!

Yes.. Sad to say but it IS common... I got like 3 the whole last week leading up to the date and I still didn't get rsvps from almost 70 people by the time my date came around... that's right, 70!!!!
Funny enough we got like tons in 2 weeks after my rsvp date.. By then it was kinda like eff you I don't even want you coming now!

There better by 94 in the mail tomorrow. I got 2 more tonight. One from my neighbor who walked it over. The other was an acceptable verbal because she had surgery and is bed ridden.
But everyone else better send their RSVPs.

Re: It's a WEDDING, not a backyard BBQ
Donna's one friend apologized, saying she thought she had mailed it, but I guess the poor gal was legitimately confused, because she has three weddings she was invited to on Aug. 8th!!!! Something about this date and the Chinese, and a lot of weddings on this date? Can anyone enlighten me? I tried to GOOGLE, but did not find anything. Mary MOB

Re: It's a WEDDING, not a backyard BBQ
The most annoying part are the ones who do respond, you find out at the last second that they won't be able to make it or come to your wedding after all. That happened to me on my wedding day with one empty table, no show! People should just be honest esp when it comes to someone's wedding, if they genuinely tried their best but they just can't attend, they should say so.

I truly understand how you feel, this happened to me on my own wedding day. Both of my mom's bbf watched me from the time I was born couldn't make it and my cousins couldn't make it either, it's really devasting that people just can't understand how important that one day is to someone!

It actually has nothing to do with the Chinese #, August 8, that weekend has become the most popular wedding weekend of the year. Last year that Sat fell on August 9 and I had 3, the year before I went to a wedding on that same weekend and the year before that.
Its that second weekend in August. Its super popular.
In fact we almost changed ours because FMIL's best friends son picked the same day. But in the end we made the decision not to change it....
Other August 8 Weddings: - My BM's best friend from college - FMIL's Aunt (and next door neighbor's) son (which we learned from a post it attached to the RSVP card) - the kid I married 8 times in nursery school is getting married at the same church as me that day - another girl I grew up with - FMIL's best friends son
And 14 couples told me they are celebrating their anniversary that weekend. Its insane.
