It's dress time...

ok, so I am getting married in 7 months, and still have ZERO idea of the dress I want to wear. Am I crazy or what?

Can everyone please give me a hand and let me know where you got your dresses?

Thanks a million!

Lillettes in baldwin has a nice selection and their dresses are all $2500 and less. They were very nice and helpul.

Adriennes in islip also has a GREAT selection and were wonderful when trying dresses on.

I saw my dress at both places and ordered it through burtons in huntington because they quoted the lowest price.

hope this helps. have fun!

I got mine at David's Bridal in Carle Place. I wouldnt reccomend it (once they have your money, customer service goes out the window, and its like pulling teeth to get an answer out of them). BUT i had no intentions of spending 3K .. not even 1500 on a dress, so for That, it served its purpose. but what they saved me in money, they made up for in aggrivation.

I would recommend taking a Sat. morning and going to the Bridal Building...millions of dresses to choose from and the prices are the BEST!!!!!!!!!

yeah, thats true with Any place. But i can probably count on One hand how many good stories ive heard about them, and i wouldnt need to use all my fingers

but, i also knew that going into it. i had heard many horror stories even in my pre-LIW days but there arent many other places that offer such a big selection at that price, so for that reason only, i went there

at david's, u could pick the dresses u like. one salon i went to, they went into the back and brought me dresses. who knows, there might've been one i liked that they didn't bring out.

We had different experiences, so i'm telling her about mine.. i'd rather be forwarned than learn the hard way... isnt that the purpose of LIW

i got my dress at kleinfeld's, a place that has often been the subject of controversy on liw but my experience there was great when i was trying and buying. haven't gone for a fitting yet, but i've heard the seamstresses are great. i think it's a great place to start looking, since the selection is unbeatable.

can't post my dress cause fi is in the room...

ETA: reading over this post i realize i used the word 'great' 3 times...

Try Estelles. They were inexpensive, had beautiful gowns. They don't do alterations but the dress cam really fast. I love it. You won't have the service of the really fancy places but you won't pay as much either. Personally I didn't miss it. I think the bridal shops were snotty... (in all fairness I only went to one, Princess bridals, and when i went for the Bm dresses the other stores were very nice, I still ordered online though)

I got my dress at Kleinfeld too- and my dress just came in today!! A month early.. They were very accomodating after I changed my dress- and you cannot beat the selection.

I agree. I ordered a dress from David's Bridal, and it ended up not looking exactly like what I had tried on. I didn't even bother fighting with them cause I knew they have a final sale return policy.

I just ordered my dress from Kleinfeld Tuesday night, and I have to say it was a very different experience than what I had at David's Bridal. You really feel special when you're there, and my saleswoman (Rita) was amazing -- she found my dress for me. And as for the seamstresses, I know they're fantastic cause my aunt is one of them.

Definitely don't feel bad. I'm getting married in 4 months and am still clueless. OK, freaking out is more accurate, but I'll type clueless.
