Its Final...VENT

i have to have a route canal.

i went to the dentist on Monday night and he took out anold filling that was starting to decay in one of my molars and filled it up again. the old filling was really deep. must have touched a nerve and now i am in so much pain that a route canal is the only way to go.
sigh. i have no dental insuance. FML

this pretty little procedure will cost me $1300, not inclding the crown i need to have made to replace my missing tooth area afterwards which will run around another $1000
my dentist told me i can wait to have my crown done until i have dental insurance under FH's union plan next year.

I am in so much pain i want to cry right now. Route Canal is scheduled for Tuesday. I'm on antibitoics and some pain killers but not really helping right now.

aww, don't worry. they aren't so bad.

i had a root canal once and even with dental insurance, it still costs a small fortune. most dental insurances only cover a fraction of the cost for a crown, which is complete bs!

good luck. I hate the dentist. I'm sure my family and friends and everyone in my dentist's office is praying I never get a cavity bc it will be a nightmare

we tried calling saying that we live together (we don't but we would have fudged it if we had to) and they said they only allowed married people under their plans. they suck

damn sorry. FH could add me bu I dont wanna claim the income. we may get married before since we're only have the ceremony on the RH and we've lived together for like 6 years.

i have 'some' dental and a new crown cost me
$950 dollars :(

but the root canal isn't bad- it will relieve the pain right away

ohh, i agree. like i said, even with dental insurance, i paid about $1,000 out of pocket for the procedure and the crown so i know exactly how you feel.

look at the bright side - toothaches are terrible so at least you won't be in physical pain anymore.

tooth pain is AWFUL, I'm so sorry Sucks that it's going to cost so much but you'll feel better after

Oh no!!!!!!!!!! This happened to me in June! I had the root canal done and it was soo bad that they couldn't close the canal and I had to have the whole tooth extracted!!!!

It's fine now, but I have a missing tooth in my mouth (which is fine b/c it is a back molar). Now I have to decide if I want to do an implant or a bridge. Bridge is cheaper but doesn't last as long.

Oh boy, so sorry this happened to you too!

And I had no dental insurance either. My dentist felt bad for me and only charged me $500 for the RC she f-ed up (instead of $1200 for the full RC), the extraction was $375 plus $175 x-rays and visit initially, and I got a quote for the implant that is around $3000 with the crown and everything. EXCELLENT.

that sucks!!! i was thinking of just having it pulled since it a back molar too but i don't want to keep losing all of my teeth. i had to have another back molar pulled years ago when i was really broke and still had no dental insurance and couldn't pay for a RC.
I would go for a bridge. they usually last for a good long while. my mom just got an implant and it shurts. plus the dentist just showed me how its done yeserday and knowing that they have to stuff a screw in my gums freaked me out!

I had a root canal done about 3 years ago and the Dentist is so nice. Only charges me $600. He is in Maspeth let me know if you want his info. He might let you pay it off over time too.
