It's just not fair!!!

It's just not fair!!!

Once again I question my decision to have my sister as my MOH.
So she tells me today that I am now in charge of my own bachelorette party.
This would not be a problem except she has gotten mad at me every time I asked for her to call the family about planning it or my bridal shower. The thing is that there are 3 weddings, 1 christening, 1 e-party and many more family obligated b-days .... (yes more) before our wedding in October. People are dishing out alot of money for these events and don't have the money to spend on me. (which is another thing I understand) But I asked her for 3 months now to try and plan this so we wouldn't have any complications. She kept saying NO and every time my FH or I brought it up(bc family would ask why they were never called) she said now I don't want to do anything. Then she didn't call again on purpose!! Now with 2 months left and every weekend booked with some on goings with the wedding I have to plan my own party!!!

I feel like I am just not special enough to be pampered or taken care of. The only one who wants me is my FH!

Then she has the nerve to say she can't plan the party because I don't want to do anything ronchie(how do u spell that?). That our taste is to different. No I don't want penises hanging from my head... does that me I don't deserve a bachelorette party???
Oh and she just now started on the bridal shower. When will that be ... oh let me choose from the 2 weeks left before the wedding that nothing is happening. She also told me she finally talked to one of the cousins who suggested a place that could be 20-30 dollars a head. She said that was to much and would be able to pay for it. Sure I have about 37 people to invite but 10 of them are OOT and would never come and some are old and from his side, who would never come. So she is worried about 20 people.

What do I do? I don't think I even want a party now. I can't stop crying. I am always second to her. This isn't about her so I guess its not as important!!!

Then my mom says... 'These parties are ment to be low key and the girls thought you should go to the city. Thats just too much money.' WHAT???????
Everyone I know gets a limo and spend the nigh somewhere. My FH is going to Atlantic City and spending the night. She knows that! I was NOT expecting a limo but I had spoke with my sister and said we could take the train and then one of the girls works for a Red Book Mag and could get a discount on the room so she should talk to her. That was months ago!

There is just to much pressure. My Fh and I got ourselves in a pickle with the money situation for the wedding and I was looking forward to going out and letting off steam!! Oh well. Just something else I want and can't have.. My whole fam thinks the wedding to to over done anyway. I guess this is my punishment. Everything I have done so far has been an argument.

I even had to change the dresses bc the MOH was giving me trouble.

I give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish the wedding was tomorrow! I want to leave this house! (did I ever mention we moved in with my parents to save money, my sister lives here to... there is no escaping them!!)

Sorry so long, had to vent! I can't wait till this is all over. The last time I was happy was when he asked to to marry him. Almost everything in the middle has ******!!! Anyone else feel like this?

that stinks!!! I'm so sorry for you!!! Is there anyone else in your bridal party to help out w/ the planning? you shouldn't have to do your own shower!!! Did you try to explain how you feel to your sis? Maybe it would be easier for her to plan if she did it at home?

Re: It's just not fair!!!

I am so SORRY, i have a jerky sister too but that's a whole other post! Given that your MOH is not 'on board' can your friends pick up some of the slack? Is there another BM who can throw your shower/plan your bach party?
There is NO WAY you should plan your own, so don't even think about that!!! I bet there's someone who'd step up, if they knew what you were dealing with-FMIL? FSIL? BFF? !!)
And if not, well then, I'll tell you what I'd do... and this is just an opinion, not a directive... Take one of those free weekends you have before the wedding, and GO AWAY, either with FH or with your best girlfriend - hit a spa, play in the sea, eat OUTRAGEOUS dinners, sleep in late, and enjoy the hell out of it. You need a break!!! And a weekend away would definitely do you some good!! I'm so sorry your sis is pulling this on you, but PLEASE don't let it sink you this close to your big day!!!
And don't worry, this is the safest place in the world to vent, so anytime you need to blow off steam you know we'll be here!!!! Good luck chica!

awwww sweetie - breathe breathe! I feel for you - I am sooo sorry that this is happening to you - I don't know why your mom does not step in and start helping out with the shower and everything - if you MOH does not want to do something maybe you and your girlfriends can just get together and do something with out her if she is being like this for the bachelorette party or ask one of your close BM to see if she could start working on it! You should be pampered toooo & this is YOUR special time I hope everyone starts to step up to the plate sooon - I will send some prayers & huggies your way!

Please don't stress over this. I'm sure someone will take the lead. I believe that there is someone in every bridal party who takes charge and gets everyone a** in gear! Typically the MOH gets the ball rolling but in a lot of cases other members of the BP or family members will begin the process.

Trust me I know how you feel My bridal party is the most indecisive & indifferent group, it actually took my FSIL and 2 aunt's to take over to get something together.

Re: It's just not fair!!!

Thanks sooooo much girls! I will not plan my own party and therefore will not have one. My bridal party is mostly made up of my FH cousins who live in Brooklyn/Breezy Point and are financially bound. Two of them are trying to duck out of getting their hair down after I made the apts 1 month ago. They probably don't even want to go out for a party. They are complaining about getting adjustments made on there dresses. (which I searched high and low to get them the lowest price out there!!!)

My BFF is busy with school and a new management position at work (and a new little sister) and I didn't tell her all this was going on. She can't afford to do this for me especially if no one will help her. My FH's brother girlfriend is amazing!! She has been the only one who ever got excited this marriage was taking place. But once again should she be responsible for the everything... NO!!!

Thanks for the pity party!! I could go on forever. I really needed to vent. Thanks for listening.
