it's my own fault really...

it's my own fault really...

So last night FH and I were watching Four Weddings. I always ask him if he likes the girls dress and he cautiously tells me. Well last night one of the girls has my dress and even though i knew i shouldn't ask ... i asked him if he liked her dress.. to which he responded 'meh' those are all of my feelings that went through my head lol

WHY would i ask him. What if he doesn't like my dress. I keep telling myself that hes going to like it because its me wearing the dress... but i can't help be sad about it.

He is not even going to remember that dress at your wedding! He probably doesn't remember it now!

All he is going to see is YOU in the dress and he will love it!

I tried asking my FH his opinion at first but he would say they all look the same, and its true- I think the only thing that really wows them about the dress is the person in it!

Guarantee when he sees it in on YOU he'll absolutely love it. On other girls and on tv it definitely doesn't have the same effect. I wouldn't worry about his reaction, like Jill said, I promise he'll forget all about it! I'm sure he'll also tell you a million times over how beautiful he thinks you are on your day.

I agree with Jill.

I'm sooo sorry you feel this way I would have done the exact same thing and felt so crummy about it.

Luckily the other girls are right, because every dress looks different on every girl. Thats why dresses that look AMAZING in magazines look like crap on me. It may be the same dress but it will fit you differently and you obviously love it for a reason. Also, unless it has some crazy distinguishing factor, he will not rememebr it was the same one, I promise!

I sooo would have done the same thing...I always watch say yes to the dress and ask FH what he thinks about it. He made a comment about why girls trains are so long and how he thinks they are ridiculous. He said this after I bought my veil which is super long and has lace trimming...I cant worry about it too much because I am sure when I wear it he'll love it and if not he better just zip it!

Think of it this way...when you go out you wear whatever you want and if your FH likes it or not, you still wear it because let's face it, we always have better taste then our men

OOHHH NOOO!!!!

i know you must really be wanting to bang your head into the wall, but try not to stress it. (iknow easier said then done) but your FH loves you and will drop when he see's you in your dress!

I know when those kinds of shows are on in the background my FH says 'meh' to every dress! I don't think he really even gets what he is saying...don't worry about it. As long as you love it, he will love you in it!!!

Thanks girls!

Saturday we went to Macy's so he can try on suits and we went up to the bridal store so I could look at Bridesmaid dresses. Just for fun i asked him which bridal dress out of all the display dresses he thought was pretty, and he picked the ugliest dress there! So I'm just telling myself he has awful taste in dresses and he just doesn't realize how pretty mine is just yet lol.

OMG I do this ALL the time and he hates it! But you know what, bottom line is, when YOU are in the dress, he will absolutely love it. I've realized that the smallest dumbest thing can make a man think 'meh' and sometimes it has nothing to do with the dress or maybe just the way it fits on the person who is wearing it. Men are silly!!

Honestly I will ask FH this all the time... one minute he hates a certain style the next minute a hot girl is wearing it and he likes that style. ... he is going to love it bc you are in it!!

Ugh, I did this. I wouldn't worry about it, I'm sure if you showed him the dress today he wouldn't even remember it.

If FH is anything like my FH (typical male), one of the following (or a combo of all of them) is likely true:

1. He wasn't even paying much attention to the show, let alone the dress

2. He was trying to give the answer he thought you wanted

3. He could care less about a dress and just cares if boobs and tush look good

IMO, don't sweat it. I can see how it could be upsetting, but the truth is that when you're walking down the aisle, if his first thought is, 'Isn't that the dress I don't like from 4 Weddings?' then he wouldn't be standing up there waiting to marry you.

I am sure he will love it on you! Guys cant visualize things on your body. I buy things and my FH tells me hes not crazy about it then when he sees it on he tells me he loves it and i tell him you didnt like it when I bought it! lol you will be fine but Id freak too!

I looked at your profile to see if there was a pic and noticed your profile says Vera Wang. No one dislikes Vera! lol. My best guess, he wasn't even paying attention and has no idea what dress you were talking about.

Rock it ;)

Men don't know anything about dresses. My FH wants something simple because he is a simple guy. When he sees you in the dress it will be a different story. Instead of being sad just think of how he will react when you tell him after the wedding that he said meh to that dress.

This! There is NO way that he will remember the dress on his own unless you bring it up after the wedding. And then he will be because he'll remember how amazing you looked!
