it's official my wedding is going to be a disaster

it's official my wedding is going to be a disaster

we tried our best not to take out a loan but of course that didn't happen since we had to furnish our apartment, renovate, etc etc. I went today to get a loan and it was denied. my wedding is in less than to months. What are we going to do ? This wedding planning is no longer fun. Maybe we should just call it off and stand our losses

Maybe you can talk to your dj or photographer about cutting your packages. Can you maybe change from a sit down to a buffet?? Sometimes places are nice when you explain your situation. HTH Good luck!

I'm really sorry you are going through this. Can you cut down on some of the costs of your reception to maybe cut costs? Can you eliminate a vendor...maybe limos? Can you cut down on the amount of flowers or change to a different cheaper flower?

those vendors are not even really my problem bc if anything I could charge them. I am worried about my guest list. I get my rsvps back aug 1 so i will see how many yes I have but for the most part I think I am going to have majority say yes.

I'm so sorry to hear this. ITA with the other suggestions. There has to be a way to still have a beautiful wedding and cut budget. What about putting some of the cost on credit cards? Did you apply to only 1 bank? Maybe apply somewhere else. I'm sure you probably thought of all this already.

Sorry to hear about you struggles. Maybe you can ask your family and friends to pitch in with some DIY stuff and try to cut out some of the vendors. Do a candle centerpiece from AC Moore or Michael's, ask a friend to take photos, etc. Back when my parents got married, they had a pot luck where everyone brought food, some one made their candles and candlesticks for the tables. It may not have been fancy but they have been happily married for over 30 years. Good luck to you.

As others suggested, perhaps you can choose smaller packages with your current vendors, or eliminate some (because sometimes losing a deposit is worth it!)

I personally had a lot more RSVP no's than I'd planned for. Guess we picked a heck of a weekend. Still, some people send gifts and things and that helps.

Also, are you having a bridal shower? One way to be frugal is to register at Bed, Bath & Beyond and anything taken off of your registry you can return for cash and that adds up! We are doing that with a lot of things because we don't need too much and the things we want, we can't tag and we can hold off until FH gets a new job.

I hope everything works out for you!

I'm so sorry . Maybe you can talk to your reception hall and see how you can cut costs there being that that's your biggest expense. I've heard of brides cutting costs by having less at their cocktail hours, maybe having less of a selection at the reception (we have 7 entree's for our guests to choose from so if you have the same maybe you can ask for only 3 options). I know a lot of girls have been surprised lately by the number of 'no's' they have received. Don't worry everything will work out.

did you try getting a loan from a credit union? that is sometimes easier then from a regular bank. I know teachers federal credit union is super easier to add a line of credit to a checking account. Can you maybe DIY a bunch of stuff? I wwould be more then willing to help you with any sort of DIY or anything else. We are having a tough time financially too, but it will all work out. FM me if there is anything i can do

I totally understand- but i've learned through planning so far that there is always a way to get by-Just dont give up!

You never know if your guest list is going to be smaller because of the 'no' responses. And can you re-negotiate the terms of your contracts? The halls will understand if you explain to them. If they cant then maybe do alot of DIY's and charge the hall on your card. Have all your friends come over and do the projects with you. They will probably be happy to help.

And i'm sure many people will give you cash at the wedding-so you can use that to pay off the Credit Card's!

Good luck!!!

I know this is not a good solution but after trying the things some of the girls have told you to do and see if that works and if not then maybe you can get a credit card w/checks and use it just for the wedding. Then put the card away and pay it off as if it were a bank loan. As I said not the perfect solution but it may help.

I am sorry this is happening to your. I agree with above about cutting costs. Talk to your vendors and see what they can do. Cut whatever costs possible. At the end of the day you will marry FH and that is the most important thing.

I've decided that I will have to pick up a few extra shifts which really ***** because I work 12 hour shifts 3 days a week and one4 day for the month. It's hard on the body esp when you work nights because you leave one day and return the next but that's my best bet right now. I don't want to keep applying for loans if the verdict is going to be the same bc my credit is going to get ruined if I keep applying. It's whatever. It will all work out hopefully.
