IUD as birth control...... questions......

Anyone ever use one of these?
How about those who never had a baby yet?
I heard if you haven't had a baby this could cause a whole lot of bleeding and tearing, etc. .

Any thoughts or experiences?

My aunt used one for many years - but that was after she had her children. There are alot of myths about IUD's and alot of truths too. They make the device differently now, than when our mothers were of childbearing age, so maybe some stuff has changed.

I have read a bit about Mirena. I would love to hear from someone who used it how they liked it. I do horribly on BCPs and have a latex allergy so my choices are limited.
