but since there are so many new brides on this board, I thought I'd ask again, since my FI and I can't come up with something we both like. I got a couple of ideas already from this board, but my fiance doesn't really care for them. :o( Does anyone have any ideas on what we can do to recognize that our wedding day will be our 9 year anniversary? We would like to do something special during our reception. Something besides dancing together... Thanks again, for letting me be a pain!!!

Why don't you get a '#9' Candle for the cake? Then when you cut the cake you can make a toast to your 9th anniversary. Or share a little special cupcake with a 9 candle or something if you don't want to ruin the look of the cake. Good luck!

You could really make it the theme for your entire wedding. I am sure it will come in toasts etc. Maybe the top tier of your cake can be inscribed with happy 9th anniversary or something like that. I am sure if you mention it once, maybe in your programs everyone will pick up on it and you will be hearing '9 years its about time' and stuff like that all night.

We are getting married the night before my Fiance's birthday and since the wedding is a Saturday night- he will turn 25 at the wedding. He did not want to make a big deal out of it. So I think that the best man (his brother) will mention it in the speech. That may work for you too! It's subtle, but then everyone will know..
Good Luck

What about implementing the number nine, somehow in your favors? nine almonds? Nine chocolates? bridesmaids bouquets? nine flowers? nine in the centerpieces...nine candles? how about putting it on the matches or napkins..with a cute saying about '9 years and never had a fight' or something like that...Good Luck!

i agree with the mentioning it in the speech thing. this is now going to be your real anniversary, you don't want to overshadow it too much...

What about asking your DJ if he has the equiptment to set up a screen and show pictures of you two through out the past nine years. You could even write something for him to read. When we were looking for DJ's a couple of them presented this idea to us. We were not interested but I know someone who did use something like this. It was cute.
