I've been really lucky with RH & Vendors...
With all the headaches that are usually involved with planning something so monumental such as a wedding, coupled with family drama (lord knows I've had my share), I'm so happy to be working with a great RH and Vendors.
My RH is Island Chateau in Staten Island; my photographer/videographer is Spelman Studios in Long Island and my florist is Hidden Essence, also in LI. They all have been so great & helpful with planning my event. With our RH and florist, we're getting first class service, a beautiful venue & gorgeous flowers-all for very reasonable pricing. My photographer/videographer was a little more expensive than we anticipated spending, but her work speaks for itself and we're getting what we're paying for. My FH is very handsome but not very photogenic so we need all the professional help we can get, lol. Coincidentally, I saw my photographer's work at my florists studio and fell in love with her pictures. My florist, Hidden Essence, was recommended to me by a co-worker. I saw pictures of the florists work from my co-worker's best friend's wedding. When choosing my Vendors I heavily relied on referral's and positive feedback from brides. Their photographs of their weddings is what sold me on their services. I live on Staten Island and went to several bridal shows. I could've easily chosen a local Vendor but didn't find anything that caught my eye, the way my photographer & florists work did.
The way I sold my FH on the budgets was that our pictures are forever and the flowers are only going to make the reception and the pictures more beautiful.
As for my RH, my FH and I checked out several places on Staten Island, and I wanted a place that did one wedding at a time. I wanted a RH that focused on me & my wedding, not spreading their staff out to cater to several weddings at a time and have to share a bathroom. Several places we saw were either too expensive, had 2 weddings at the same time or the place was a dump. My RH, Island Chateau in SI, had been recently renovated with a brand spanking new ballroom and they gave me a great price pp that included premium liquor and table linens. Most places we were looking at charged extra for these things.
I also have a great baker, Jackie of Jackie's Cake Boutique.
If any of my fellow bridezillas are in need of any of these Vendors please check them out:
You can find the photographer, Spelman Studios and florist, Hidden Essence on this site. The RH's site is: www.islandchateau.com. The baker's is www.jackiescakeboutique.com.
