I would think whatever you were most comfortable in! I don't think any type of shoe is 'right' as opposed to what works for you.

when i think summer i think strappy sandal but then again i've seen some hot closed toe sling backs DECISIONS DECISIONS!!

Personally, I love strappy shoes. My hardest item to buy will be shoes because all the shoes I love are strappy or peep toe, but getting married in Feb means I have no choice but to wear closed toe (I cannot do open/peep toe w/ stockings). But if you find a closed toe that you love, you have to get it. All that matters is that you love the shoe.
