responsibility of my seating arrangements. Actually It was taken away from me. My inlaws decided on the way to look at the Hall last night that they are picking who sits where.. Umm.... Hello??? Bride here <--- me me It was pretty funny my mom and I were like 'whoa' 'Yeah ok you just pick what you want and let me know..'
I give up.

Re: I've given up
they're reasoning is so if anyone gets mad all the blame can be put on them.
Honestly are your guests tied to the seat you put them at??? I hope they are all up and dancing nevermind them sitting all night

Re: I've given up
i had the same problem. so i know how you feel.
i had to politely tell FMIL that she is not in charge of the seating, to just let me know who is family and i will sit family with family.. and if this one cant sit with that one then i will do my best to ensure it doesnt happen.
but i am NOT giving up control to her or my own mother on this one. i want it to be as pain free as possible.

Re: I've given up
I don't know why some family members get so worked up over seating. The majority of the night is taken up with good food and music. Most every wedding I've ever been to, people are up mingling from place to place and/or dancing.
Its not like assigned seating in 6th grade that you are stuck in for an entire year

I know that you feel like she took over...but look at it this way, this is just one less thing that you have to do...Let her do it for his side anyway...Do you really care where his family sits?? You could look over her seating and then make some changes at the end it you dont like it...

Re: I've given up
I would be so excited if my in laws volunteered to do something. I'm giving them their seating chart and 10 days to do it and that's it. If it's not done, I'm taking it and doing it myself and if they don't like where there family is sitting then too bad you should have done it when I gave it to you the first time.

bc it can cause alot of drama its funny but so true. People get insulted about how far back they're sitting, then family members expect to sit close to the grooms or brides parents table to show their importance and if other family members are sitting closer to them then they get mad, especially if theres any problems with the family members. Its crazy lol but so true
For FH's side, i gave to them who to sit who where lol its so much easier
