The deathknell for me? Last week, FH and me walked into David's Bridal. I looked at all the wedding gowns and said, 'Am I expected to go through all of these to find a dress?'
I have to admit ladies, I absolutely HATE shopping!!!! Catalog and online shopping were made for me because I really can't stand going into a store to shop. When I need something, I buy it, but please don't ask me to go through racks of clothes and go from store to store to buy something.
Ever since then, my enthusiasm for having a wedding has totally diminshed.
Any way to get it back?

why dont you start off at a smaller store with less dresses, or a place like Kleinfelds that is less hectic and they will bring you a few dresses instead of you digging through the racks?

OMG Cyndy, you took the words out of my mouth in regards to shopping. i can't stand the actual act of sifting through junk in a store, make sure it fits, finding what i'm looking for. the only thing i actually like about shopping is when it's over and i have what i needed in the first place.
you'll get your inspiration back! i've heard this wedding planning thing goes through peaks and valleys.

well.. I hate to say this but I think that you set yourself up to fail by going to David's first- Look through books and stuff, find something that you like, and call around to see who has it- hopefully, you will get yourself psyched to see something that when you get to the salon, you'll be so excited to see the dress that you won't think about the shopping aspect of it! David's Bridal is very overwhelming. Maybe you can try going to a smaller bridal shop where there will be less dresses and not so smushed. You can also write down the style numbers from online pictures and ask to see those dresses. Then the sales woman can pull them for you!!

Yeah I will recomend you to make and appointment in a small bridal shop it will much easier. I order my dress from Helens Bridal and I love the service.

It might be a bit easier if you go in with an idea of what you want and meet with a consultant and have her pull dresses in the style you like.

Go to Bridal Refelctions.
I started at David's just to look at dresses. First I was like 'I could never go there!' But I learned a lot about dresses and what looks good.
But, after the fiasco at David's- I went to Bridal Reflections. They take your budget, ask you what you like and bring you a few to try on. I think you should do that so you are not overwhelmed. Good luck!

David's Bridal is a bit overwhelming.. so going there may have been why you felt soo overwhelmed.. I think that everyone gets a lil 'less enthusiastic' at times.. you will get it back darling.

Okay heres something silly to do. Give yourself a time limit. Say, 45 minutes. Go in and pick the dresses and try them on. If you dont try on all the dresses you picked in that short amount of time, you have to do anything of fh's choice. However if you do make it.... he has to do whatever you want ;)
You can use that in any way if u know what i mean!

Def. get an idea about what you want before you go into the bridal salons. You can look at magazines and online. Then you can go shop with a pic. so that when you get to the shops they can bring the dresses to you.

Before I went to David's I printed out pics from their website of all the dresses I wanted to try on. It saved a lot of time and I didn't have to sift through the racks which can be very annoying.

Breathe.....I hated going to Davids because it is over whelming, sp. But I tried some stuff on and wont go back,lol. Try going to smaller places. Lillettes in Baldwin is great!!! I'm going back for the 3rd time next week and hopefully make my decision. But go to other places that arent so over whelming,sp.
