I've made an executive decision...

Original post by jannshari

I'm taking a mental health day tomorrow. I'm tired, congested, and drained from my day today, and thankfully, we're compensated for our lack of a living wage with great benefits, including a shitload of vacation and sick days. So, I'm taking a sick day tomorrow and just going to be a lazy brat and sleep late and run some errands so I can relax a little over the weekend and not have to run around like a loon like usual.

My mental health is in severe jeopardy...it's either a day off or

I highly suggest that anyone else in need of one take it!

I plan on going out later. Unfortunately, I didn't sleep much later than I normally do, but I can always take a nap if I really want to later. I have errands to run once I decide to get going, but right now, I'm still in bed (yes, with my laptop - I'm marrying a geek, did you really think I wouldn't have access to a computer no matter what room I'm in? ), shaking off the sleepies and debating what time I'm going to really start my day. Unfortunately, as a trade-off for taking the day, I have some work-related calls I have to make today, but I'll do those whenever the hell I feel like it.

Becky...if I tell you, I'll have to kill you.

Re: I've made an executive decision...

I went to a conference once and the keynote speaker said that everyone always calls in sick, but no one ever calls in well. He said that we should just pick up the phone, call your boss and say 'life is great, I feel great, so I'm taking the day off to enjoy!' I haven't tried that yet and I heard this advice 4 years ago!
