I've trained him well...

I've trained him well...

So the other day FH slipped up and spent a few hundred dollars at macy's on some unnecessary clothing (IMO) but it was stuff he wanted. Now, we live paycheck to paycheck and constantly discuss ways to save and etc. He actually hid the purchases in his car (like I wouldn't find out) but eventually came clean. This morning, at 5:57 mind you, he wakes me up and he's like 'babe, I did a good thing'

Me: And then you did a bad thing
FH: Huh?
Me: You just woke me up!
FH: No you'll love this
Me: speak.
FH: That stuff I bought at Macy's... well, I got an email with a coupon code from polo, and I found everything I wanted on there, and it's free shipping, AND I can use bill me later and have no interest.... AND it came out to $100 less than what I spent at Macy's! I'm gonna go return everything to Macy's today if I can get lunch!
Me: You amaze me every day!

Needless to say, I did not mind that he woke me up after that!!!

he's learning how to save. $100 is a huge difference, it can be put towards something else.

Awesome - my FH is the exact opposite. He only buys clothes when he literally has holes in his shirt, pants, etc. Going out to eat ? Only if he's too tired to cook or something else comes up. He brownbags lunch almost every day, and spends no more than $10/day for lunch if he has to go out.

Its very aggravating - when I brought up the topic of limos for the wedding, his response was 'what do you need that for? you really want to blow $$ on just 1 day?!'. Needless to say, one of the major gripes I will bring up at Pre-Cana is how extreme his thriftiness is!!!
