Ivory Dresses

Hey...I ordered my dress a few weeks ago in an Ivory (very light, almost a pearlish color). My complexion is so fair that I knew white would just wash me out. Anyways my question is for anyone who has worn a light ivory colored dress...I was told that the guys or any of the bridal party or the moms can wear grey or silver or im assuming white cause it will make my dress look dirty or dingy. Just curious if a silver vest on the guys would really have an affect on how my dress came out? If anyone wore an ivory dress please let me know what vest colors etc you used and if this caused a problem with pictures etc... Thanks!!

Re: Ivory Dresses

I am wearing ivory (for the same reasons as you) and I don't think anything white will make my dress look anything less than perfect.. I would not worry about it looking dirty.

I went with FH to try on tuxes and he is goign to wear an ivory vest and tie-- with a white shirt. the combination looked great..

we are going to put GM's in back ties and vests. All dads in silver.

Do you have a swatch of your dress- bring it with you to look at tuxes and see what it looks like against different colors.

Re: Ivory Dresses

I dont have a swatch yet, just ordered the dress..but they do have a tux part in the store, so maybe ill just drag my dress to the tux part and put it up against the silver and what not..good idea, thanks!

Re: Ivory Dresses

I actually just got my swatches in the mail this week-- the ivory which I thought was such a deep ivory- really is not.. Def check it out-- and try putting FH in ivory vest and tie-- it looked so regal with a wing tip collar and a half windsor knot!! And it will compliment your dress so beautifully..

Re: Ivory Dresses

My dress was ivory and DH and all the GR wore ivory shirts. DH wore a black vest and black tie, and the GM wore cranberry and black checked vests with black ties. My BM were in the cranberry. Just to give you an idea, here's a pretty close up of DH and me and a pic of one of our BM and GM.

Re: Ivory Dresses

I am wearing ivory as well, and I think silver would look fine. We haven't looked at tuxedos yet, but I think I want him in a white shirt and ivory vest...

Re: Ivory Dresses

Posting a pic of my dress:
FH is wearing an inbetween white and ivory shirt vest and tie.
They have sooo many different shades when you go look for his tux. And the people who work there should be able to help you with what will match - try to brign a swatch of your dress if possible!
