i am looking into the bridal gowns - considering ivory for my fall wedding. the ladies at the salon tell me that ivory looks more richer.. i will be going tanning so im not casper looking in either my ivory or white dress.
so i need feedback! white...or ivory?!?

I chose ivory - It just looked so much better than the white
My bridal consultant that 9 out of 10 brides now a days order ivory gowns

I think it depends on which dress you choose..I ordered mine in white because I felt the one I tried on in ivory looked old..like it yellowed almost. But mine also has lace appliques which could be what gave it that 'old doily' look in the ivory. haha..there was one I tried on that would have looked better in the ivory because the white gave it an almost gray look because of the embellishment...You will be able to tell once you find the dress you love! Yea I'm a lunatic..I went to every place around me & just want to know what I am wearing..I didn't realize how picky I am! SO when I found my dress I wasn't going to take the chance of it being discontinued!...
I have to get all of my 2009 prices! haha want to be able to buy a house ASAP after the wedding so I pretty much know everything I want, its just getting all of the $ together..We've got the hall, my dress & veil, tiara, dj, & meeting with the photographer tomorrow night..I was always fascinated with weddings so I had alot of research done just by going to so many! haha I think after we book the photographer that will be it for a while..I just wanted to put deposits to lock in our prices while I continue to save..everything is so expensive & we started at zero when we got engaed so we're doing pretty well! haha it's amazing how I couldn't save $ before!! haha

I also think it depends on your skin color ( i cant tell in your picture).... if your really pale you may want to go with ivory b/c white may wash you out especially bc your wedding is in the fall your summer tan may have faded unless you go tanning.... So i would say go try on both when you are not tan and see which color complements your skin tone

You have the right idea. I'm doing the same thing. I have all of my vendors booked ( flowers, limo, photograpers, DOC, RH, DJ). All of my vendors said the prices will be going up as of July/Aug.

from your picture I would definately say white, I personally like the way white looks on almost everyone, but i'd say espically if you are tan and have dark hair. good luck :)

I am extremely pale too and I was very nervous about wearing white but I really wanted to keep the tradition of wearing white on my wedding day. I was actually very surprised to see that white did not look as awful on me as I thought it would!!
In the end it is all about your personal preference but I chose white. HTH!

I also kept asking myself the same question over and over. Prior to going dress shopping, this question never crossed my mind.
My sample dress was only in ivory, so I didn't have one in white to try and my bridal attendant and especially my mom said to get Ivory. It was in January, I had no make-up and I was very pale. But, I knew with a tan and make up I would look much different. Plus, for me it was more about the tradition. I always imagined myself in white....it bothered me for days and I finally called back and switched to white. I felt so much better, but I have no idea what it looks like in white as I only had seen the Ivory.
Its defenitly a personal preferance, so I chose white.
