Ivory v. White dress shirts

FH tried tuxes last weekend for the first time with an ivory shirt - since my dress is ivory. . . .but I kind of hated it. To me, the ivory dress shirt just looked like a dirty white shirt. I'm thinking he should just wear white, I don't think we need to match completely. My dress is such a deep ivory, that even an ivory dress shirt doesn't truly match. What do you ladies think?

there was a post about this earlier i think it was Roz's. i agree with you. we're doing white shirts/ivory vest/tie.

looks like this is hot topic today.

fh hated the all ivory look. he loved the white shirt with ivory vest and tie on tv. so he is going back to try it on to see how it looks in person.

btw, i loved the way it looked on tv too

I'm on so sporadically I didn't even see that! OK, good to know. I think we are doing black tux, black vest, burberry tie, color TBD. White shirt.
