Ivory Wedding dresses

My dress came in slightly more ivory than I expected.

I think still want to go with white shirts on the guys... does anyone have a pic of that?

Will it look bad do you think?


I went to a wedding this weekend, and the guys shirts were ivory, and it looked funny I though

My dress is ivory, and the guys are wearing ivory shirts. the shirts dont look funny at all...in fact, you cant even tell that they are ivory because everyone matches each other. i have seen some pics of wedding parties with the bride in ivory and the men in white shirts, and it makes the dress look dirty. JMO

If you're wearing an ivory dress the guys should be wearing ivory shirts IMO, they compared the two at the tux store and you can see the difference and they say that in pics it will make the dress look 'dirty'

I'm goint to get the guys ivory or cream colored shirts. They're wearing kilts and tartan ties, so I don't think the ivory will be that obvious. I would go with an off-white in your situation too

I completely agree.

ivory next to white look dirty or yellowed.

besides, ivory makes anyone's skin tone darker. which IMO, most people like!

I 'm not sure why it looked funny... I think it was perhaps the look of the ivory against the black of the tux. I'm probably the only one at the wedding that noticed it. I'm going to try to attach some pics tonight.

But my friend and I have totally different taste - so maybe it was the tux or something that I didn't like

FH and his guys are wearing black suits and ivory shirts. the guys will be wearing burgundy ties (to match the girls dresses) and FH will wear a black tie.

does anyone think that will look bad?

I think it will look fine! My FH is also probably going to wear a black tie(possibly ivory) with his black tux and ivory shirt also. When you see the ivory shirt on its own, it looks white, its only when you place the ivory and white next to eachother you can see the difference. I dont see why ivory would look weird at all.

actually, the shirt he bought for the wedding is distinctly ivory, or maybe I feel that way b/c I am so concerned about FH and I matching!!

well, then it's a good thing you have plenty of time (fellow November bride )

IMO, your FH should definitely wear ivory. it will make your dress look old/yellowed/dirty if he wears white. unless of course your dress is a very light ivory, mine is a true ivory.

I attempted to post a pic and it didn't work
