'Jack and Jill'

'Jack and Jill'

Another member mentioned a Jack and Jill shower...and i was wondering what all of your opinions were on this. FH kinda wants to be involved..he wants to be ther to open presents and thank people (and i think thats great that he wants to be there and be involved and express gratitude)...but i am more traditional in that sense and kind awish it was just the girls...so i dont know what to do for it....

Luckily for me, i already told everyone I want to be completely surprised...so i wont have to make any decisions..i told everyone FH and my opinions...and unless fh and i decided for him to deff be there and to make it jack and jill then it will be up to MOH and mom...

but what are your opinions???

Ive stated my opinions on Jack and Jill showers before. The truth of the matter is that your FH may be the exception to the rule of men getting involved. IMO, most men prefer not to go to these things. They may have a good time once they get there (assuming there isn't a major sporting event on TV) but I can't imagine any man wanting to open up towels and toaster ovens. JMO.

My brother's girlfriend's sister had a Jack and Jill at a bar in our neighborhood before she got married...and this is what it was....the women ohing and ahing over blenders and mixers in the back room and the men getting drunk at the bar

My cousin and his wife had one 2 weeks before their wedding which they paid for themselves which I thought was a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!! It was more like an engagment party type event with a DJ...I just thought they were paying for it themselves and then getting married in 2 weeks I thought it was dumb

I am having a traditional shower

My FH doesn't want to come to the shower. I'm sure he will do something with the boys that day.

ETA: He will probably be in on getting me to the shower, because I want it to be a surprise.

i would like traditional shower and then FH can come at the end to talk, say thank you, eat, mingle and then bring gifts to car ..

i like this idea!!!

Also, maybe they can make a wishing well just for him?? at a friend's shower they actually got two huge garbage pails, decorated one as a groom, one as a bride, and most people brought wishing well gifts for the groom... tools and such... he came at the end i believe!

I love this too!!! FH definitely would love to open the presents also... If he really wants to, I would love him to be there.. but the rest of the boys can stay home!!! lol
