Jack & Rose - what's the catch?

Hi,
We had an appointment with Jack & Rose yesterday. Everything seemed great and all I've heard from you guys is that he does awesome work.

But the quote he gave us was 50% less than all the other florists we visited. I find it hard to believe. There has to be something I'm missing.

What is the catch? Has anyone had any bad experiences with them?

Really, REALLY confused.

as i understand it he is a distributor of flowers as well and so he gets them for cheaper prices than some other florists. his quotes ARE much cheaper .
as far as good and bad experiences - i think people on the boards have had both - as will happen with any vendor.
we decided to go with jack because we liked him when we met with him, liked his ideas, and his price was the best we recieved. it's a matter of personal preference and comfort with the florist i guess.

Hi

You will find good reviews and not so good reviews on practically every vendor here. I know that recently there has been some negative reviews about Jack and Rose, but there are also many positive reviews.

I have booked Jack and so far he has been a pleasure to work with. Obviously I can not comment on my flowers yet. There are many brides on here who have used Jack and some are featured on his website. I visited many florists and Burtons and Jack and Rose where the most practical and inexpensive. I don't know why there is a difference across florists-sometimes I think you are simply paying for a 'name.' I would do a search on Jack and Rose on this site and read the reviews for yourself.

Good luck with your decision.

I have not yet had my wedding, so I cannot tell you how my flowers camed out, but seeing Jenn's (JennBaby) flowers, they were gorgeous, and seeing his work overall confirmed that for me. Jack is wonderful, and I truly expect for his work to be as wonderful!

Why don't you try doing some sort of poll for brides who have already used them so that they could vote on their level of satisfaction with the Jack and Rose's work OR post and ask that they FM you, so that they can be truly honest.

IMO I don't thing there is a catch, but I can't justify why he is able to charge so much less . . . maybe that is a question Jack himself would be able to answer . . .

I don't know that I would call this a 'catch,' but I did notice that the price that J&R offered (which was indeed 1/2 of other florists) included half as many flowers for the centerpieces (18 v. 36), so you may want to ask about that.
